Team building games and work party games
The best team building games don't feel like team building. A game show on the big screen, with teams on the scoreboard and everyone buzzing in on their phone, gets the quiet ones talking and the loud ones competing.
- Players
- From 2 to a room full; each game gives its own numbers
- You need
- A TV or screen with a web browser, and a phone for each player
- Set-up
- A couple of minutes: open the TV page, then everyone scans the QR code
- Price
- Players never pay. Basic costs nothing; the Trial is every game for a month or 5 plays (plans)
Games for teams at work

Quiz
A quiz on the TV with phones as buzzers or answer pads. Choose a ready-made quiz, write your own or build one with AI.
- 1–30 players
- Depends on the quiz

Survey Showdown
Try to name the answers people gave in a survey. Popular answers score more. A good game for people who like talking and quick guesses.
- 2–30 players
- About 15–25 minutes

Question Quest
Pick a clue from the TV board, buzz in and answer in the form of a question. For 2 to 8 players, each playing for themself, who enjoy trivia and a little risk.
- 2–8 players
- About 20–35 minutes

Mind Meter
Give a clue that helps your teammates find a hidden spot on a scale. For teams who like talking about what words mean.
- 4–30 players
- About 10–20 minutes
- Needs teams
- Same room only

Who's Who Hullabaloo
A quiz about the people at your party: baby photos, voices, drawings and things they said. Great for birthdays, reunions and groups who know each other.
- 3–30 players
- Depends on the questions
- Needs a guest list
- Set up before the party

Shadow Squad
A team of secret agents must pull off 5 missions. But some of them are Informants working against them!
- 5–10 players
- About 15–25 minutes
- Same room only
Ideas for work
- A quiz about your workplace. Write your own quiz (with pictures and clips) about the company, the team and the year, or have AI write one on a topic.
- Who's Who Hullabaloo. Colleagues send baby photos or a fact about themselves before the day, and everyone guesses who's who. A great icebreaker for a new team.
- Department against department. Play in teams and the TV keeps each team's score.
- Shadow Squad for the brave. A hidden role game about trust, for teams who like a bit of drama.
Office Christmas party games
Run a show: a quiz, Survey Showdown and a quick game, one after another, with Arnold (the virtual host) and Lily (the virtual co-host) presenting. Whoever organises it can play along too, without seeing the answers.
Make it about the year: a quiz round on the office (what did the team order for lunch most?), Who's Who Hullabaloo with colleagues' baby photos, then department against department on the Survey Showdown board. Thirty minutes is plenty before the speeches, and nobody has to install anything on a work phone. More ideas on our Christmas party games page, and a hard round of Christmas charades for after lunch.
Secret Santa, Kris Kringle and gift swap games
Secret Santa (Kris Kringle in Australia) is everyone buying a present for one colleague, drawn at random. The game is in the reveal: let everyone guess who their Secret Santa was before they own up, or play a gift swap, where you can keep the present you open or steal someone else's.
Use the Name Spinner on the TV to pick who opens a present next, so the whole room can see it's fair, and the Number Picker for raffle tickets or the order of the swap.
What you need at work
- A big screen with a web browser: a meeting room TV, a projector, or a laptop plugged into one.

- One host account. See the plans.

Questions
What are good team building games?
Quizzes in teams, Survey Showdown, Mind Meter and Who's Who Hullabaloo (a quiz about your colleagues) all work well.
Can we play with a team in another office?
Yes. Players join from their own phones over the internet, so people elsewhere can play along with the game on a screen there.
Do staff need to sign up?
No. Players only type a nickname. Only the host has an account.
What are good office Christmas party games?
A Christmas quiz in teams, Survey Showdown department against department, Who's Who Hullabaloo with colleagues' baby photos, and a Secret Santa (Kris Kringle) reveal with the Name Spinner picking who opens next.
How does Secret Santa or Kris Kringle work?
Everyone draws one colleague's name at random and buys them a small present, usually with a set spending limit. At the party, each person guesses who their Secret Santa was before the giver owns up.
